Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
The Buccaneers worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

The Buccaneers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.

Brailsford at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting Barham proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Germaine Pratt gives the group a proven body among the projects.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Peter Woods
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Peter Woods in the 22nd pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick59 Rnd2 Sam Leavitt
Circle this one: Sam Leavitt at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick111 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
They paid sticker price for Daylen Everette in the 111th overall pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick126 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
They robbed the room for Parker Brailsford here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaishawn Barham
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaishawn Barham this early at Round 5, Pick 17. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jordan Castell
A reach on Jordan Castell in slot 161; the board had better options right there. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick235 Rnd7 Dylan Edwards
They talked themselves into Dylan Edwards at pick 235, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
