FutureC+
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Buccaneers a B-. The Buccaneers did not so much draft James Williams Sr. as overpay for him, 42 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sadiq. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Pick59
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Kenyon Sadiq in pick No. 59, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick92
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
A real head-scratcher, Chase Bisontis in No. 92 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
Somehow D'Angelo Ponds was still sitting there in the 127th overall pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick168
Rnd5
Kage Casey
A tidy bit of business in pick 168, where Kage Casey graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick243
Rnd7
James Williams Sr.
They reached a country mile for James Williams Sr. at the 243rd pick, and the board is aghast. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
