Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Buccaneers for Iamaleava: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Buccaneers were there to profit. Nico Iamaleava, the No. 163 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 200.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Their trades came out a wash either way.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
Nothing to complain about; Chris Brazzell II went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick52 Rnd2 Connor Lew
A slide stopped in No. 52, with Connor Lew worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick83 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson at pick No. 83 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick120 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Domani Jackson in the 120th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick159 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
Fair-plus on DeMonte Capehart, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick200 Rnd6 Nico Iamaleava
Nico Iamaleava in Round 6, Pick 20 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234 Rnd7 Amare Campbell
Amare Campbell at the 234th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
