Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Buccaneers a B-. The Buccaneers did not so much draft Tanor Bortolini as overpay for him, 35 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Wilson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick34
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in pick No. 34 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick57
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
They let T.J. Tampa come to them and pounced at pick 57. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick89
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick103
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
By-the-book stuff, Zak Zinter at No. 103 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
A reach on Cedric Gray in Round 4, Pick 5; the board had better options right there. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick110
Rnd4
Javon Foster
They jumped the gun on Javon Foster, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick125
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
A reach for Mohamed Kamara in the 125th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139
Rnd5
Johnny Wilson
Nice patience on Johnny Wilson, who had no business lasting to slot 139. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152
Rnd5
Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at No. 152 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193
Rnd6
Erick All
Erick All at pick No. 193 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick220
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick231
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 231st pick is fair value, right on his grade. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick246
Rnd7
Tyrice Knight
They liked Tyrice Knight enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 246. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
