Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall
D-
ValueB-

TradesF
FutureB
The Buccaneers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Buccaneers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
The Milton III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That Wilson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Morgan. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick37
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in the 37th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick52
Rnd2
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in pick No. 52 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Pick79
Rnd3
Trey Benson
Trey Benson at pick 79 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick84
Rnd3
Johnny Wilson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Johnny Wilson at No. 84. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick88
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
No edge and no loss on Zak Zinter in slot 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cooper Beebe
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at the 105th pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick114
Rnd4
Junior Colson
By-the-book stuff, Junior Colson at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick120
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in the 120th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick127
Rnd4
Joe Milton III
They reached a country mile for Joe Milton III at the Round 4 slot, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick142
Rnd5
Darius Robinson
A reach on Darius Robinson in pick No. 142; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at pick 158 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick168
Rnd5
Justin Eboigbe
A conviction pick on Justin Eboigbe at the 168th overall pick that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick198
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Dwight McGlothern well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
No drama and no debate, Jordan Magee went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 45. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
