Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Buccaneers and Colson: D+.

The phones were a trap the Buccaneers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Henderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Colson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In pick No. 13 they get a premier pass rusher, though they paid up to get him.
Pick29 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
Terrion Arnold in Round 1, Pick 29 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick42 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick56 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean in the 56th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick74 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick77 Rnd3 Brian Thomas Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Brian Thomas Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick92 Rnd3 Amarius Mims
They let Amarius Mims come to them and pounced at slot 92. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick110 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at No. 110 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128 Rnd4 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton at Round 4, Pick 28 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick129 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
They went early on Darius Robinson in pick 129, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick134 Rnd4 Junior Colson
Taking Junior Colson in the 134th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick140 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
They paid sticker price for Ty'Ron Hopper in the 140th pick, and that is fine. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick165 Rnd5 Devontez Walker
Somehow Devontez Walker was still sitting there in pick No. 165, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick188 Rnd6 Keith Randolph Jr.
They liked Keith Randolph Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick220 Rnd6 Jason Henderson
Jason Henderson at No. 220 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
