The Buccaneers did not so much draft Solomon Byrd as overpay for him, 41 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They banked enough surplus on DeJean to cover a lot of smaller sins. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
