Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureF
The Buccaneers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+.

The Brady Cook pick is the one that will follow the Buccaneers into the fall. They took him 54 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Put together, it is a D+.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They banked enough surplus on Henderson to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In No. 19 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
A reach on Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 39th overall pick; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick41 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos in pick No. 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick53 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
They paid sticker price for Alfred Collins in pick 53, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick72 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at slot 72 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick84 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick121 Rnd4 Cody Simon
Cody Simon at pick No. 121 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick157 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in slot 157 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick235 Rnd7 Brady Cook
Brady Cook in the 235th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
