Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Broncos finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Broncos reached some 61 spots for DeMonte Capehart, and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with tight end, wide receiver and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.

They banked enough surplus on Solomon to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In No. 12 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick76 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Payton Wilson in slot 76. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick114 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
No drama and no debate, Darius Robinson went about where he belonged in pick 114. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE and leaves tight end, wide receiver and other spots untouched.
Pick146 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
A reach on Khristian Boyd in Round 5, Pick 10; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick230 Rnd7 Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo in the 230th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick237 Rnd7 DeMonte Capehart
A real head-scratcher, DeMonte Capehart in Round 7, Pick 17 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
