Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Buccaneers found their guy under center in Williams: D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Buccaneers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

The Crumedy reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Phillips value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 2nd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
A conviction pick on Jonathon Brooks at pick 47 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick57 Rnd2 Mekhi Wingo
A straight-up fair deal on Mekhi Wingo at No. 57, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick72 Rnd3 Blake Corum
By-the-book stuff, Blake Corum at pick No. 72 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick89 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick101 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
No edge and no loss on Matt Goncalves in the 101st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Good price on Sataoa Laumea in Round 4, Pick 26, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick138 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki at slot 138 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick203 Rnd6 Andru Phillips
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Andru Phillips in Round 6, Pick 28, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220 Rnd6 Tarheeb Still
Somehow Tarheeb Still was still sitting there in slot 220, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick244 Rnd7 Jaden Crumedy
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaden Crumedy a notch or two before his time. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
Pick255 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
No drama and no debate, Steele Chambers went about where he belonged in No. 255. It adds depth where they could use a little.
