FutureB
Nobody dealt better than the Buccaneers this weekend: B. Nobody else had Isaiah Major anywhere near pick No. 244. The Buccaneers did, by 162 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Buccaneers indulged a want in Stover while a need in interior defensive lineman and tight end stayed open.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman in Round 2, Pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick93
Rnd3
Cade Stover
Of all the spots to shop, they chose TE-EDGE. Cade Stover in slot 93 leaves interior defensive lineman and tight end for later.
Pick110
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
No edge and no loss on Mohamed Kamara in No. 110; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick126
Rnd4
Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams at pick 126 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
This one needs a full-page explanation: Braelon Allen in pick No. 134, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick164
Rnd5
Taulia Tagovailoa
They reached into another round for Taulia Tagovailoa, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick203
Rnd6
Carson Steele
Carson Steele at pick 203 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick244
Rnd7
Isaiah Major
They left a pile of value on the table to take Isaiah Major this early at Round 7, Pick 24. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick255
Rnd7
Christian Roland-Wallace
Christian Roland-Wallace in pick No. 255 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
