The Buccaneers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Buccaneers did exactly that with Cody Schrader in pick No. 126.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. However the rest shakes out, Watson at that price is a win they earned. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Bralen Trice
In pick No. 26 they get juice off the edge, reach and all. A real need, handled.
Pick58 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick89 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They did well to land Mike Sainristil in slot 89, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader in Round 4, Pick 26 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick204 Rnd6 Kingsley Eguakun
They paid up for Kingsley Eguakun at the 204th pick when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick220 Rnd6 Zakhari Franklin
Zakhari Franklin in the 220th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick247 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson in the 247th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
