Pearl should have been long gone. The Lions pounced, and earned a B+.

Somebody in Round 7, Pick 29 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Lions sat still while Julian Pearl, the No. 204 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Jefferson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
