Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB
Gould should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B-. You could see the war room lean forward. Anthony Gould at pick No. 179 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The Jefferson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In the 31st pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kamari Lassiter
They will replay Kamari Lassiter at Round 3, Pick 2 for years; that is how good the value is. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick105
Rnd4
Renardo Green
Renardo Green at the 105th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick134
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They took Christian Jones at par in slot 134, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144
Rnd5
Hunter Nourzad
Hunter Nourzad in No. 144 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in pick 160 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick179
Rnd6
Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould in pick No. 179 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick225
Rnd7
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick253
Rnd7
Trevin Wallace
Circle this one: Trevin Wallace at the 253rd pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
