The Jaguars won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. The Jaguars did not so much draft Clayton Smith as overpay for him, 69 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
The Jaguars paired the rookies with proven help, Puka Nacua leading the way.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
