Draft Grade — Jaguars

FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Jaguars this weekend: B. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Jaguars started one anyway for Stephen Dix Jr., 182 picks ahead of schedule.
The Robertson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick63
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Elijah Sarratt in slot 63. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick81
Rnd3
Mikail Kamara
They reached into another round for Mikail Kamara, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick90
Rnd3
Austin Siereveld
They took Austin Siereveld at par in Round 3, Pick 26, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Carson Beck
They read the board right and Carson Beck was the payoff at pick 125. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129
Rnd4
Austin Romaine
A premium they did not need to pay, Austin Romaine a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
Pick131
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Fair-plus on Tacario Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick154
Rnd5
Justin Joly
Justin Joly is a better player than pick No. 154 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick167
Rnd5
Drew Allar
Nice patience on Drew Allar, who had no business lasting to the 167th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192
Rnd6
Josh Moten
They paid a round early for Josh Moten in Round 6, Pick 13, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick193
Rnd6
Drayk Bowen
Drayk Bowen at No. 193 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick203
Rnd6
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in the 203rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick206
Rnd6
Darian Mensah
The board fumbled Darian Mensah all the way to pick 206, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jordan White
Jordan White in slot 232 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick240
Rnd7
Jason Henderson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jason Henderson well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick242
Rnd7
Stephen Dix Jr.
They reached a country mile for Stephen Dix Jr. at the 242nd overall pick, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick244
Rnd7
Sawyer Robertson
Somehow Sawyer Robertson was still sitting there in No. 244, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick245
Rnd7
Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at Round 7, Pick 30 is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick255
Rnd7
TJ Metcalf
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for TJ Metcalf. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
