Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Jaguars a B.

The Jason Henderson selection is the head-turner. The Jaguars reached 136 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. However the rest shakes out, Lew at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick64 Rnd2 Antonio Williams
They did well to land Antonio Williams in the 64th pick, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick81 Rnd3 Connor Lew
You do not let an offensive lineman like Connor Lew reach Round 3, Pick 17 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91 Rnd3 Austin Siereveld
A tidy little value on Austin Siereveld in pick No. 91, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick124 Rnd4 Carson Beck
They read the board right and Carson Beck was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick128 Rnd4 Justin Joly
Justin Joly in slot 128 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick166 Rnd5 Bryce Boettcher
A big swing on Bryce Boettcher at No. 166, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick167 Rnd5 Lander Barton
They reached into another round for Lander Barton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick168 Rnd5 Kage Casey
A clean, defensible pick in pick 168 with a little surplus value in Kage Casey. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
Aaron Graves at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick191 Rnd6 Patrick Payton
Value said wait; Patrick Payton in pick No. 191 says they were not listening. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick201 Rnd6 Kalil Alexander
Kalil Alexander at the 201st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick208 Rnd6 Evan Stewart
A straight-up fair deal on Evan Stewart at No. 208, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick217 Rnd7 Josh Moten
Josh Moten in the 217th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jason Henderson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jason Henderson this early at Round 7, Pick 17. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick240 Rnd7 Jordan White
Jordan White at the 240th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick241 Rnd7 Noah Fifita
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Noah Fifita at pick No. 241. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick245 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
Luke Altmyer is a better player than pick 245 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jack Velling
Jack Velling at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
