Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Jaguars won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jason Henderson, 112 picks early at No. 239. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

That Beck pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The veteran additions, Tyrone Tracy Jr. chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Elijah Sarratt. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cade Klubnik
You do not let a quarterback like Cade Klubnik reach slot 75 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick93 Rnd3 Kaytron Allen
They jumped the gun on Kaytron Allen, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick100 Rnd3 Michael Taaffe
The board fumbled Michael Taaffe all the way to pick 100, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at No. 111 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick118 Rnd4 Carson Beck
Taking Carson Beck in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick132 Rnd4 Austin Romaine
A straight-up fair deal on Austin Romaine at slot 132, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick150 Rnd5 Tacario Davis
They barely believed it either: Tacario Davis still on the board at No. 150. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jack Velling
Jack Velling at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
They paid sticker price for Tristan Leigh in pick No. 217, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick226 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
Fernando Carmona in Round 7, Pick 10 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick231 Rnd7 TJ Metcalf
A big swing on TJ Metcalf at the 231st pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jason Henderson
They reached into another round for Jason Henderson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick241 Rnd7 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor in pick 241 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick244 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at Round 7, Pick 28 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia at pick No. 257 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
