There is conviction, and then there is this. The Broncos took Jahvaree Ritzie a full 60 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Porter pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
