A Yank on the Footy DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns

Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

FutureB+
The Browns robbed the room for Lachey. Final grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Browns were there to profit. Luke Lachey, the No. 59 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 96th overall pick.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They paid sticker price for Kenneth Grant in the 33rd pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker in No. 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91
Rnd3
Josh Simmons
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Josh Simmons in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick96
Rnd3
Luke Lachey
The board fumbled Luke Lachey all the way to Round 3, Pick 32, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
