The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Lew: B. Somebody in the 69th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Connor Lew, the No. 43 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Iheanachor proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
In the 7th overall pick they get a blindside protector at fair value.
Pick19
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In pick No. 19 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jayden Maiava
Jayden Maiava in slot 50 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick69
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in Round 3, Pick 5 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81
Rnd3
Will Lee III
A reasonable price with a little left over, Will Lee III in No. 81. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick82
Rnd3
Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at the 82nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick138
Rnd4
Michael Trigg
Value with a capital V on Michael Trigg in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick148
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
A reach on Max Iheanachor in pick 148; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick222
Rnd7
Trebor Pena
Nothing to complain about; Trebor Pena went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
