Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
The Browns worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Brandon Adams, 109 picks early at No. 104. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

The Reid steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In pick 25 they get a green-dot type in the middle. Need was not the driver here.
Pick38 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in pick No. 38 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick58 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren slid further than he should have, and slot 58 is lovely value for the tight end. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at Round 3, Pick 3 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick94 Rnd3 Sebastian Castro
A quiet steal in the 94th overall pick: Sebastian Castro for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick102 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in No. 102 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104 Rnd4 Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams in slot 104 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick159 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in Round 5, Pick 22 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick163 Rnd5 Chris Paul Jr.
You do not let a linebacker like Chris Paul Jr. reach pick 163 and blink. They did not. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick177 Rnd6 Anthony Belton
They reached into another round for Anthony Belton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick190 Rnd6 Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at the 190th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Cody Simon
They robbed the room for Cody Simon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Circle this one: Jordan Hancock at the 214th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in No. 215 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick256 Rnd7 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at No. 256 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
