Draft Grade — Rams

More right than wrong for the Rams, and a B- to prove it. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Rams spent the Round 3 slot on Cody Simon, a name most had 39 spots down the list.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. On value alone, Jackson makes the weekend a net positive.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick90
Rnd3
Cody Simon
They reached into another round for Cody Simon, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick100
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Taking Donovan Jackson in pick No. 100 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126
Rnd4
David Walker
David Walker in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick192
Rnd6
Antwane Wells Jr.
A tidy little value on Antwane Wells Jr. in the 192nd overall pick, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
