Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Colts, and a B- to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Colts reached some 33 spots for Mason Taylor, and value like that does not grow back. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

On value alone, Mukuba makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In slot 14 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.
Pick45 Rnd2 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at pick 45 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick80 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
No edge and no loss on Carson Schwesinger in Round 3, Pick 16; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick116 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Somehow Andrew Mukuba was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick152 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at the 152nd pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick191 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
A straight-up fair deal on KeAndre Lambert-Smith at No. 191, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
