A passer of the future in Ward, and a D, for the Browns. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Browns started one anyway for Brady Cook, 103 picks ahead of schedule. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They have staked the next five years on Cam Ward, which is the only story that really matters here. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
