Draft Grade — Falcons

The Falcons land in the muddy middle: C+. The tape said wait; the Falcons did not. Konata Mumpfield went at No. 242, a good 118 picks before the board was ready.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In pick 15 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Terrance Ferguson
They talked themselves into Terrance Ferguson at the 46th pick, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Billy Bowman Jr. in No. 118. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick218
Rnd7
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at pick No. 218 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick242
Rnd7
Konata Mumpfield
Konata Mumpfield at slot 242 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
