Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Browns turned the phones into found money: B.

The Browns treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 248 on Squirrel White a full 59 spots early.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Brian Thomas Jr. pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In the 6th overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
By-the-book stuff, Olaivavega Ioane at pick No. 39 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick70 Rnd3 Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell in No. 70 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick107 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Good price on Kage Casey in pick 139, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick144 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
They paid sticker price for Ted Hurst in Round 5, Pick 6, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick147 Rnd5 Albert Regis
Albert Regis in slot 147 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jamal Haynes
A reach on Jamal Haynes in pick 204; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick248 Rnd7 Squirrel White
They talked themselves into Squirrel White at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
