Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Browns won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B.

The tape said wait; the Browns did not. TJ Ferguson went at No. 248, a good 44 picks before the board was ready. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the 6th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
They went early on Jake Slaughter in slot 39, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Chandler Rivers
A premium they did not need to pay, Chandler Rivers a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez at Round 3, Pick 18 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick107 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
No drama and no debate, Tacario Davis went about where he belonged in pick 107. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139 Rnd5 Kage Casey
They did well to land Kage Casey in No. 139, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144 Rnd5 Trey Moore
A real head-scratcher, Trey Moore in Round 5, Pick 6 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick147 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at the 147th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204 Rnd6 Conner Weigman
A clean, defensible pick in the 204th overall pick with a little surplus value in Conner Weigman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick248 Rnd7 TJ Ferguson
They talked themselves into TJ Ferguson at No. 248, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
