Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB-
The Browns checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Ian Moore, 22 picks early at the Round 4 slot.

The McClain pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 9 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Leonard Moore
Leonard Moore at the 13th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick17 Rnd1 Cam Coleman
In the 17th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
A reach for Kenyatta Jackson Jr. in Round 2, Pick 16; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick83 Rnd3 Brendan Sorsby
By-the-book stuff, Brendan Sorsby at pick No. 83 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jaylen McClain
Jaylen McClain in pick 117 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick119 Rnd4 Tyrique Tucker
A reach on Tyrique Tucker in No. 119; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick127 Rnd4 Ian Moore
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ian Moore well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick142 Rnd5 Isaac Brown
They took Isaac Brown at par in pick 142, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick155 Rnd5 Luke Reynolds
No edge and no loss on Luke Reynolds in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick227 Rnd7 Yannick Smith
They paid sticker price for Yannick Smith in the 227th overall pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick236 Rnd7 Christian Alliegro
Christian Alliegro at No. 236 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
