Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Browns: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Browns reached some 81 spots for Solomon Tuliaupupu, and value like that does not grow back. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Altmyer. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
Carnell Tate at the 6th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick27 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In pick 27 they get a long-term starter on the line, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
No edge and no loss on Olaivavega Ioane in slot 39; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick70 Rnd3 Austin Siereveld
They paid up for Austin Siereveld at Round 3, Pick 6 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick107 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
They paid a round early for Chase Bisontis in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick140 Rnd5 Bryce Lance
They barely believed it either: Bryce Lance still on the board at pick No. 140. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
A reach for Jacob Rodriguez in Round 5, Pick 6; a little patience would have been rewarded. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick148 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in slot 148 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick210 Rnd6 Solomon Tuliaupupu
Value said wait; Solomon Tuliaupupu in the 210th pick says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
They robbed the room for Luke Altmyer here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
