Grand theft in pick No. 135: the Browns steal Jackson and grade out a B-. Somebody in slot 135 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Khyree Jackson, the No. 84 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They are betting Sinnott proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick54
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette at pick 54 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick85
Rnd3
Ben Sinnott
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ben Sinnott. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at Round 4, Pick 35 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
A reach for Luke McCaffrey in pick No. 155; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick205
Rnd6
Daijun Edwards
By-the-book stuff, Daijun Edwards at No. 205 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick208
Rnd6
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in the 208th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick228
Rnd7
JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand slid further than he should have, and the 228th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. It adds depth where they could use a little.
