Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
A

FutureA+
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Strong: A. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Dorian Strong slide 59 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The Travis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In the end it comes back to Ashton Jeanty, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
They read the board right and Ashton Jeanty was the payoff at pick 12. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick33
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slid further than he should have, and No. 33 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick44
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Nice patience on Malaki Starks, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Elic Ayomanor at Round 3, Pick 3. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick76
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
A reasonable price with a little left over, Carson Schwesinger in pick No. 76. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick94
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
They paid sticker price for Darius Alexander in the 94th pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Phillips. It fills a real need, too.
Pick179
Rnd6
Dorian Strong
They will replay Dorian Strong at the 179th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192
Rnd6
DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens at pick No. 192 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick200
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Fair-plus on Oronde Gadsden II, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick216
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at slot 255 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
