Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Broncos a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Broncos started one anyway for Jordan Travis, 24 picks ahead of schedule. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 JC Latham
JC Latham in the 14th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick78 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at pick 78 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
They reached into another round for Jordan Travis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick129 Rnd4 Nehemiah Pritchett
They jumped the gun on Nehemiah Pritchett, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick151 Rnd5 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in slot 151 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick235 Rnd7 Zakhari Franklin
A conviction pick on Zakhari Franklin at No. 235 that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick244 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
This one needs a full-page explanation: Steele Chambers in No. 244, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
