Draft Grade — Broncos

FutureB+
The Broncos did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B+. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Broncos took Phillip Webb a full 88 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Emmanwori. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick51
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 51 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick64
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Harold Fannin Jr. in No. 64, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
Steal is underselling it; Kaleb Johnson at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick85
Rnd3
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins in Round 3, Pick 21 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick96
Rnd3
Jake Majors
Nothing to complain about; Jake Majors went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick120
Rnd4
Mello Dotson
Mello Dotson at the 120th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick189
Rnd6
Amari Kight
Amari Kight at Round 6, Pick 14 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick195
Rnd6
Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb in the 195th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick205
Rnd6
Samuel Brown
They read the board right and Samuel Brown was the payoff at slot 205. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
