The Broncos robbed the room for Skattebo. Final grade: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Broncos were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 100 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 210. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will need Bassa to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Tez Johnson at pick No. 121 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.

Taking Gunnar Helm in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

JJ Pegues in slot 199 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick210 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to Round 6, Pick 32, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
