The Broncos let Davis fall into their laps, and walked away with a D.

Somebody took the Broncos to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Monheim left real value on the table behind him.

The Davis value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In pick 8 they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick12 Rnd1 Deone Walker
In slot 12 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44 Rnd2 Tacario Davis
The board fumbled Tacario Davis all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick76 Rnd3 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at the 76th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick108 Rnd4 Brant Kuithe
They read the board right and Brant Kuithe was the payoff at the 108th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd6 Akheem Mesidor
They paid up for Akheem Mesidor at pick No. 172 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
