Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Broncos.

There is reaching, and then there is Collin Oliver at the 208th pick. The Broncos jumped the board by 86 and dared it to prove them wrong. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. That Wilson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In slot 20 they get a seam-stretching tight end. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick51 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on TreVeyon Henderson. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick85 Rnd3 Shemar Turner
By-the-book stuff, Shemar Turner at pick No. 85 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 122 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick191 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick 191. It fills a real need, too.
Pick197 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw in Round 6, Pick 21 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick208 Rnd6 Collin Oliver
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Collin Oliver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
