Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Broncos spent slot 223 on Rivaldo Fairweather, a name the board had a full 63 spots lower.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.

Sturdivant at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
