Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Broncos let Dike fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

There is a lot to like until you notice linebacker is still a hole. The Broncos never got to the one that mattered most. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

Dike at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Reaching for Stackhouse left real value on the table behind him.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the 20th pick they get a security blanket over the middle. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick51 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter slipping to slot 85 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick122 Rnd4 Chimere Dike
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Chimere Dike in No. 122, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick191 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 15 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick197 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
They went early on Nazir Stackhouse in pick 197, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick214 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
Somehow KeAndre Lambert-Smith was still sitting there in pick 214, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick256 Rnd7 Jeremy Crawshaw
No edge and no loss on Jeremy Crawshaw in Round 7, Pick 40; it is a wash and a sensible one. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
