Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Alfred Collins got past him. The Broncos do not have to explain a thing at Round 3, Pick 21. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
