Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Broncos let King fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The board owed the Broncos one, and it paid up: Kobe King, the No. 138 name on the board, sitting there at Round 6, Pick 32 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the 20th pick they get a red-zone target to build around at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick51 Rnd2 Kaleb Johnson
Nice patience on Kaleb Johnson, who had no business lasting to the 51st overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick85 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba is a better player than Round 3, Pick 21 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick121 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter in No. 121 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick193 Rnd6 Darius Alexander
Somehow Darius Alexander was still sitting there in slot 193, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick200 Rnd6 Pat Bryant
They robbed the room for Pat Bryant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick210 Rnd6 Kobe King
Kobe King at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick251 Rnd7 Corey Kiner
They barely believed it either: Corey Kiner still on the board at pick No. 251. A need, and now a little less of one.
