The Broncos cashed the board's mistake on Parrish: A-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jacob Parrish, the No. 118 name on the board, stolen at Round 5, Pick 14. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Adding Tre'Davious White by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Bottom line, with Tetairoa McMillan leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In pick No. 27 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that.
Pick47
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland at pick 47 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick119
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
Somehow Darius Alexander was still sitting there in the 119th pick, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick122
Rnd4
Charles Grant
Steal is underselling it; Charles Grant at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick136
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
They will replay Xavier Restrepo at the 136th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in Round 5, Pick 14 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick183
Rnd6
RJ Harvey
Taking RJ Harvey in slot 183 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick208
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
They reached into another round for Cam Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick242
Rnd7
Dante Trader Jr.
They read the board right and Dante Trader Jr. was the payoff at the 242nd pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
