Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall C-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC
Larceny in the 51st overall pick lands the Broncos a C-, Hampton and all.

The phones were a trap the Broncos kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A weekend of give and take that grades a C-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hampton. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Hit on Emeka Egbuka and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
A conviction pick on Emeka Egbuka at Round 1, Pick 20 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick51 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
A running back of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick53 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
No edge and no loss on Harold Fannin Jr. in slot 53; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick85 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at pick 85 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick191 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
A straight-up fair deal on Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 191, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick208 Rnd6 Jay Toia
A tidy little value on Jay Toia in the 208th pick, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick236 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Vinson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick241 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
They took Isaac TeSlaa at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
