Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Broncos.

The Broncos clearly saw something nobody else did in Jeremy Crawshaw, taking him 44 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Getting Hampton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
Nice patience on Tyler Warren, who had no business lasting to the 30th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick51 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at No. 51 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick56 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A straight-up fair deal on TreVeyon Henderson at the 56th pick, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick85 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 21 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The roster fit checks out.
Pick125 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer is a better player than pick No. 125 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick191 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
A reasonable price with a little left over, JJ Pegues in the Round 6 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick197 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
No edge and no loss on KeAndre Lambert-Smith in pick 197; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick206 Rnd6 R.J. Mickens
They paid sticker price for R.J. Mickens in No. 206, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick208 Rnd6 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at slot 208 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick209 Rnd6 Jeremy Crawshaw
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jeremy Crawshaw. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
