Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesA FutureC
The Saints robbed the room for Rosemy-Jacksaint. Final grade: B.

When a board-topper like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Saints did not. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
A tidy bit of business in pick 14, where Brock Bowers graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick45 Rnd2 Taliese Fuaga
Taking Taliese Fuaga in slot 45 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
A tidy little value on Kamren Kinchens in pick No. 67, a step better than break-even. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick100 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Steal is underselling it; Kingsley Suamataia at the 100th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at Round 4, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
They did well to land Kamal Hadden in the 175th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick190 Rnd6 Layden Robinson
Layden Robinson in No. 190 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick199 Rnd6 Grayson Murphy
They barely believed it either: Grayson Murphy still on the board at the Round 6 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick239 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
They robbed the room for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
