The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bengals reached some 30 spots for Josh Proctor, and value like that does not grow back.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Suamataia falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
