The Saints left with their quarterback, and a B to match. Call it larceny. Elijah Sarratt sat on the board until No. 131, and the Saints did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They are betting Womack proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The whole projection now runs through Ty Simpson; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
