Draft Grade — Jets
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Jets won the night they stopped Cameron from sliding. Grade: A-.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Jets were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

They banked enough surplus on Cameron to cover a lot of smaller sins. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In the end it comes back to Arvell Reese, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick16 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In the 16th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick30 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
Nice patience on Kayden McDonald, who had no business lasting to Round 1, Pick 30. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick33 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Cisse at No. 33, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick46 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
A tidy little value on Jake Slaughter in pick No. 46, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick62 Rnd2 Antonio Williams
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Antonio Williams at the 62nd overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick108 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kaytron Allen in the Round 4 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick116 Rnd4 Justin Joly
Justin Joly slid further than he should have, and Round 4, Pick 16 is lovely value for the tight end. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick175 Rnd5 Kaleb Proctor
Nothing to complain about; Kaleb Proctor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178 Rnd5 Febechi Nwaiwu
Febechi Nwaiwu at the 178th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick192 Rnd6 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 192, where Kaleb Elarms-Orr graded well above the range. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick193 Rnd6 Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock at pick 193 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick206 Rnd6 Bud Clark
No edge and no loss on Bud Clark in the 206th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick209 Rnd6 Josh Cameron
Josh Cameron in No. 209 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick218 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at the 218th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick229 Rnd7 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson at pick No. 229 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick242 Rnd7 Andre Fuller
Value with a capital V on Andre Fuller in No. 242, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
