For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Bills walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Wright has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with linebacker the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
