Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Cowboys robbed the room for Tuten. Final grade: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Cowboys came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

Tuten falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Justin Strnad gives the group a proven body among the projects.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Matthew Golden
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton slid further than he should have, and No. 44 is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick51 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
They took Alfred Collins at par in pick 51, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick76 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Jack Bech slipping to the 76th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick85 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at pick No. 85 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick149 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
They read the board right and Hollin Pierce was the payoff at the 149th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at pick No. 171 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick174 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Steal is underselling it; Bhayshul Tuten at pick 174 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick204 Rnd6 Caleb Rogers
A reasonable price with a little left over, Caleb Rogers in Round 6, Pick 28. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick211 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at the 211th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick239 Rnd7 Bilhal Kone
Bilhal Kone in No. 239 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
A tidy little value on Jabbar Muhammad in slot 247, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
